Shawn Murphy is Executive Vice President of ValuAmerica, Inc. Shawn is responsible for overall performance of the company by setting the strategic direction, along with managing the business development, operations and compliance divisions for ValuAmerica. He is a commissioned Notary Public in the state of Ohio and a certified Notary Signing Agent (NSA) through the National Notary Association (NNA). He is actively involved with the Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association. Before being appointed Executive Vice President of ValuAmerica, Shawn served four years as the company’s Director of National Sales, with responsibilities for product development and strategic sales for ValuNet xsp, valuation, title and settlement services. Prior to joining ValuAmerica in 2006, he  served as a Special Agent in the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Criminal Investigations. Shawn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology / Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University.

 

Chris SturdivantChris Sturdivant, President

Chris Sturdivant joined the National Notary Association in 2011, having previously spent 13 years in the mortgage banking and financial industries. He works nationwide with corporate clients including banks, hospitals, insurance brokerages and retail business service providers. His professional background includes sales management in both mortgage originations and specialty servicing with major banking organizations including CitiMortgage and Morgan Stanley. He currently oversees the NNA’s Trusted Notary Program, which helps financial institutions manage their direct Notary employees and professionalize Notaries in the banking industry.

William A. Anderson is one of the nation’s foremost authorities on Notary best practices, procedures and ethics in the mortgage industry and the real estate closing process. As the NNA’s Vice President of Legislative Affairs, he oversees legislative affairs, the Notary bond and insurance program, and the organization’s efforts to promote, professionalize, and elevate the Notary Public office. An expert in Notary law and technology and corporate Notary policies, he has created curriculum and presented Notary education courses in over 40 U.S. states.
